چکیده

A new approach is presented for the simultaneous analysis of lead isotope ratios and gold, lead, bismuth concentrations in metallic silver using nanosecond laser ablation multi-collector inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-MC-ICP-MS). Corrections both concentration analyses are performed an in-house matrix matched reference material RM3834. Accuracy external reproducibility demonstrated by repeat a further seven materials all characterised solution (MC)-ICP-MS approaches. Typical internal precisions, expressed as two relative standard errors (S.E.) mean cycles comprising one analysis, <0.5% 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb 208Pb/204Pb, <0.03% 207Pb/206Pb 208Pb/206Pb. External reproducibilities, based on over 10 month period deviations (S.D.) mean, <0.4% 208Pb/204Pb <0.2% Internal precisions reproducibilities typically <25%. Data consistent with solution-based Methods through set Islamic dirhams from mint al-Muhammadiyya, highlighting their applicability to geochemical studies archaeological artefacts.

Nickel Isotope Investigation by Mc-icp-ms and Ptims

Introduction: The evidence for the presence of short-lived Fe (decaying into Ni, with the half life of 1.5 Ma) in the early system has recently received considerable attention, both experimentally and theoretically. Evidence for Ni excesses in eucrites, without correlation to Fe/Ni has been obtained by Shukolyukov and Lugmair [1, 2]. Recently, based on ion microprobe studies of phases with very...

Laser ablation ICP-MS analysis of the radial distribution of lead in the femur of Alligator mississippiensis.

A laser ablation ICP-MS technique has been used to examine the radial distribution of lead in transverse sections of alligator femur. Annual bone growth in the femur results in the deposition of incremental layers of calcified tissue at the periphery of existing bone. Patterns of lead concentration within these layers provide a record of time-dependent accumulation from which exposure history c...

Zinc isotope ratio imaging of rat brain thin sections from stable isotope tracer studies by LA-MC-ICP-MS.

Zinc stable isotope tracers (⁶⁷Zn and ⁷⁰Zn) were injected into rats at two different time points to investigate the feasibility of using tracers to study zinc kinetics at the microscale within distinct tissue features. Laser ablation coupled to multi-collector ICP-MS was used to analyse average isotope ratios in liver thin sections and to generate bio-images showing zinc isotope ratio distribut...

Measurement by ICP-MS of lead in plasma and whole blood of lead workers and controls.

OBJECTIVES To test a simple procedure for preparing samples for measurement of lead in blood plasma (P-Pb) and whole blood (B-Pb) by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), to measure P-Pb and B-Pb in lead workers and controls, and to evaluate any differences in the relation between B-Pb and P-Pb between people. METHODS P-Pb and B-Pb were measured by ICP-MS in 43 male lead smel...

ICP-MS determination of lead isotope ratios in legal and counterfeit cigarette tobacco samples.

A method for the determination of Pb isotope ratios (IR) in cigarette tobacco by quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (Q-ICP-MS) has been developed and applied to tobacco samples from genuine and counterfeit cigarettes obtained in the USA. The IR ²⁰⁷Pb/²⁰⁶Pb, (208)Pb/²⁰⁶Pb, ²⁰⁶Pb/²⁰⁴Pb, ²⁰⁷Pb/²⁰⁴Pb and ²⁰⁸Pb/²⁰⁴Pb were measured using a Q-ICP-MS instrument. Two certified refer...
